Since 1986 I’ve been taking photos from the Portuguese Trains. However this picture archive has been kept in a semi-privacy state, being known only by a few APAC (Portuguese Rly. Association) members. This web site will mainly serve the purpose of showing and sharing some of these photographs. The images don’t have artistic aspirations, but may have some interest for the portuguese railways fans from all around the world.
As an example of the number of fans, the APAC, one of the three national associations concerned with railways has two major centers in our two major cities with almost 1200 members, and even in the United Kingdom exists an reasonable group of Portuguese Trains enthusiasts, mainly based their interest in former CP 1800 class, british made Diesel-Electric locomotives.
As the site is being developed, always with new railways pictures, I hope you have as much pleasure seeing them – and eventually keeping them - as I had taking them. It would give me enormous pleasure.

As a curiosity , the photographs that illustrate this web site, were taken with four types of cameras:
Photos token until 1994 : Praktica MTL 5B or Canon T50
Photos token after 1994 and until 2003: Nikon F-90 e F90X cameras, with digitalized slides on a Minolta Dual II scanner
2003: The same Nikon and a digital Fuji S602 Z camera, with poorer quality, but mainly much cheaper and faster in the photos processing.
